A41930417 Friday the 13th - Unlucky for Some?

I just put an entry into PR on the Thirteen Club, an anti-superstition group founded in 1881. And I noticed something in this entry on Friday the 13th.

It quotes a British medical article, as follows:

'The risk of hospital admission as a result of a transport accident may be increased by as much as 52 percent.
Staying at home is recommended.
- article published in the British Medical Journal, 18 December, 1993'

I think it might be a really good idea to go back and make clear in that Entry that the article in question is satirical and the figures deliberately bogus.

If you click on the link, you'll notice that the other article on that page mentions the decline in bow tie-wearing by doctors... (yeah, that must have been before Matt Smith....) It was the annual joke issue...

In other words, we look like we've been Onion'ed.

Thanks Dmitri. The actual link wouldn't load for me so I've removed it. I have added a footnote to the text explaining the bogus figuressmiley - cheers

Speaking of being Onion'ed, have you heard about http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-34272547 ?
