There is a typo in Spike Milligan's name near the end: it is generally given as Terence, but Guy has given him two Rs.

There are other things needing repair here; the stuff about the theme Vaughan Williams used is misleading, as it looks rather as if he's saying the theme was taken from the previous piece discussed, Spem in Alium.

Is Guy still around?

It looks like Guy hasn't posted since 2003 on this account.

I've corrected the typo (rather ironic in the case of Spike Milligna, the well know typing error) and made a new paragraph to separate the Spem in Alium info from the Fanatsia info, although the tune RVW used for the fantasia did have a name - Why Fum'th in Fight. I'm not a Tallis scholar so I don't want to change that immediately, but I think that's right.

I've reworded that section slightly and added links to the entry. I also made some minor changes to the all-too-brief Tallis Fantasia entry A398937 (changed all instances of 'of Thomas Tallis' to 'by Thomas Tallis'). There's some useful information in the conversations from J'au-æmne which could go in, but the entry itself is pretty thin for such a well known and well loved piece of British music and could really use an update.

I will perhaps attempt more of an update later. I'm currently listening to the complete works of Tallis on my ipod, and I admire and like him well. He was yet another historical figure hatefully traduced by 'The Tudors'. They really deserve some award for getting the Emperor Charles V to say 'What's not to like, apart from the chin?'

What you've done is terrific, Gosho. All that really remains to do is maybe to make it clear that Guy thinks RVW's Fantasia, not Why Fum'th in Fight, is one of the world's most sublime creations.
