The suggested new link is a spoof website, not the website of the CCS, which is here https://www.gov.uk/government/policies/improving-the-uks-ability-to-absorb-respond-to-and-recover-from-emergencies Is there a part of that website that's suitable as the new link, Icy, or do you want to go with the spoof and re-write the sentence?

OK, the website was closed down a year or two ago, but the information still exists in an online leaflet.

Sure. I've seen that rule waived recently, so there's every chance they'll agree.

That advice was given only three weeks ago.

Pastey is not around to ask, he's mid US tour. But going on his general advice about 'case by case', the link in question here is to the direct.gov website, which is UK government. So on that basis, I would say this pdf is fine to link to.

And I'd just like to say thanks to all of you for doing so much needed curating this evening. Keeping abreast of broken links is like painting the Forth Bridge.
