The guide as it stands is a repository for information. However, information can become less valid over time - for example, if I were to write "it is now the year 2000" then this would be perfectly valid...until next year.
My question is really - is there any provision for updating accepted entries where you find that the information therein is out of date? The original guide must have had such a mechanism or Ford would not have been on Earth in the first place.

The edited guide entries will be updated over time. Researchers either write new entries which can be combined with an existing entry, because they add more information, or more up to date information or by Researchers adding comments, facts and information within the conversation threads, which will be added to the original entry.
Much the same happened with the original Guide. Originally the Guide entry read 'Harmless' - Ford had it updated to read, 'Mostly harmless'. I hope we can add more information to our existing entries than that. Keep the edited Guide up to date and informative is one of our key priorities.

Excellent. I don't have anything that needs to be updated as yet - but its one of those thoughts that sits in the back of your mind humming away when you are trying to get to sleep.
I now have just 17 further worries to get rid of before bedtime
