TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office Started conversation Feb 9, 2007
Is there any way of discovering which fora I'm subscribed to? I'm subscribed to my friends' journals and to Ask h2g2, The Forum, Editorial Feedback, most of the review fora, a few Edited Guide Entries, all of my own entries, and sundry other bits and pieces. Can I access a full list from anywhere?
I'd just like to know.

The last time I remember this being asked, I think there was nothing other than having Jim Lynn run an SQL command on the database!

Um. I'm certain Jim Lynn could find out for me, of course. Is that really the only way to do it, though?
I also wonder if there's a quick fix: unsubscribe from all conversations to which I have not yet posted. (Instructions to leave my family when I die.)

Well as you're pushing 8,600 conversations in total at the moment. Your family are just going to /love/ you the day you're brown bread

You muck around with the 'skip' and 'show' attributes in the conversations URL
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/MP612575?show=20&skip=8550
The skip attribute got limited to, I think 400, a year or so back due to database loading issues. Jim reinstalled it quite recently when whatever that problem had been was resolved. It is fun to play

Do you have any idea of the stresses that puts on the server, GD?
Probably alright this time of night, though.

Of course I understand. That's why Jim was very quiet about its reintroduction, and why those who enjoy the feature were quiet about having our favourite toy back again

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Feb 10, 2007
I'm struggling with all my might not to make some kind of smutty innuendo about the last two posts
I'll get me coat.
