They just pepper the script and you have to be very awake to catch some of them.

My favourite is the entertainer (? Elvis)at"The Restaurant at the End of the Universe" who was spending a year dead for tax purposes.

The radio show was magnificent - all the imagination of radio - and I watched the first of the tv series in some trepidation. It was even better !! That shows a lot of skill. Thanks BBC smiley - laugh

The Ghost of Polidari

Hotblack Desiato, I believe.

Named after an estate agent whose sign DNA saw as he was driving somewhere, I probably incorrectly recall.

Throw away lines ?

The whole of both radio series are packed.

I mean, why does the freighter captain start to diverge on the radio from "Roger and out" to "Kevin and out" and "Peter and out".

I cannot go for long without my "fix" on the radio broadcast and still laugh in delight after a quarter century of entertainment.

DNA was a genius. His sideways look at life, the Universe and everything has cheered my perception of it. Despite my being one of the useless third of society (a former Personnel Officer).

Everyone should also see the view from the Vortex... the sign saying "You are Here".

Excellent.

Hotblack Desiato is an estate agents in the Islington area of London. If you drive towards central London on the A1 you will pass many of their boards. In fact they have a website here: http://www.hotblackdesiato.co.uk/ a glance at which will confirm that they know about their fame in Hitchhiker, or at least of the character with that name - maybe they don't actually realise he's named after them?
