For me what happenned to thw two missiles and waht they thought after being so improbably turned into objects that were not missiles and had absoloutely no place 300 miles above the surface of a forgotten planet, is the best bit of the HitchHiker's guide ot the galxy, and perhaps the opening on the radio series.

The follow through on the petunias/Agrajag was a fun discovery in the books.
The whale is the passage I use to get dubious friends to read the series.

While the Arajag case was obviously intended to explain stuff, I remember reading Douglas saying somewhere that some stuff that happens later in the Hitchhiker story accidentaly explained stuff that happened earlier. -Spooky.

I can't remember what was said about the petunias and the whale but it was something like "That will be explained later."
I always wanted to read *that* story!
