Wonderful work as per usual with a nice warm personal touch.
One thing I might point out, the monochromatic politics of the US are particularly PC about *black*. As Mr. Jackson is from there he and others might prefer *African American*. I know it seems silly but it is also a cultural thing.
Nice work, btw we had an abysmal count of 35,000 in Vancouver (cold, driving rain) but Montreal topped 100,000 at 25 degrees below 0c.

Re: calling the Revd JJ 'black'. It is normal English usage to call someone who is both black and British 'black British' in the same way British Asians refer to themselves as - er - British Asians.
Political Correctness?
Hey ho. I suppose so.
Thanks for the kind comments, cl.

Hello Ben, heard an interesting pro-war argument today that basically rehashed the parallels between this situation and Chamberlain in 1938. I found it to be unconvincing but it did raise some interesting points. One that got me was that if Saddam were to be left alone the affect on the United Nations would be the same as the effect on the League of Nations back then. The other was simply that there are similarities between Germany and Iraq - Japan and Korea - Italy and Libya that could very easily lead to the same kind of alliances.
I admire your intelligence and style and I'd like to know how you feel about the remote possibility that history just may repeat itself.
