If you liked 'Ringu', then you'll like this. It's more of the same, in some ways - a bloodless horror film that manages to make you feel uneasy from the very start, even in the more mundane scenes. I think that Hideo Nakata could make a cornflakes commercial seem threatening and uncomfortable...

Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like

Cornflakes commercials are threatening...

I am planning on going to see this next weekend, I think, depending on finances.smiley - ok

I see that there is a new Shinya (Tetsuo The Iron Man) Tsukamoto on the way as well - apparently less violence but more sex. Good to see him back behind the camera after his star turn in 'Ichi the Killer'.smiley - magic

smiley - shark

Ah, see, I have my unlimited card, so I don't have to worry about finances when it comes to the cinema. What I do have to worry about is looking desperately sad going to the cinema myself. Most people wouldn't have a problem, but after my last experience - cinema was unexpectedly packed, film (Bloodwork) was dire - I prefer company. The two girls who accompanied me last night were assured that it would not be scary. Heh.

Just Bob aka Robert Thompson, plugging my film blog cinemainferno-blog.blogspot.co.uk

A somewhat underwhelmed critic said that this was basically a film about a woman becoming more and more concerned and unnerved by a damp patch on the cieling. He also said that the main actress was superb at this, and actually ended up making the film quite good. I'm not a horror fan as a rule, though, so I probably won't see it.
