It's one of those films that people either love or hate, I don't think I've ever met an indifferent person.

I'm firmly in the camping-it-up / bring-it-on camp. Where does everyone else stand?

Is this the kind of thing we're looking for here or are we wanting deep critique, because I could do that too, if you want?

I've not seen this one, although the name is very familiar. About when is it from?

Released 1998. Todd Haynes directed flick featuring the story of David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust but *isn't* the story of David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust (yeah, right). Starring Ewan McGregor, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Christian Bale, Toni Collette and Eddie Izzard. That jog your memory?

Not really, but it does sound very very promising.Ewan MacGregor and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are among my favourite actors, Eddie Izzard is cool and Christian Bale and Toni Collette impressed me in Reign of Fire and About a Boy respectively. Plus, I like David Bowie. I'll be looking out for this one!

Myjo - Keeper of Decisions That Should Never be Made on Two Hours of Sleep

Congrats, you've now met your first "in the middle" person when it comes to this movie. I liked the music and the pageantry, but I didn't find the story itself to be terribly compelling. Some of the acting was fabulous (Eddie Izzard, Toni Colette), but most of it was either more of the same (Ewan McGregor) or just bad (Christian Bale). In the end, I wouldn't be completely opposed to seeing it again, but I also wouldn't rush out and buy the DVD or even recommend it to friends.

=shrug= Just my opinion
