I presume that your problem is finding volunteers rather then finding entries, but I can see this becoming a regular feature with (rather a lot of) regular updating. A442333

My mistake - I had thought I was a the Post Editors page not the page for the Post itself.

The link should take you to Lucinda's entry about 'The Meaning of Use-Names' which was a fun-project he had started a couple of years ago.

It seems a shame to let it whither and perish, but it needs to be current to be interesting. In fact, it needs to be on-going to be interesting.

I could envisage a regular (or irregular) column in the Post covering much the same ground, with analysis by much the same people. I know that Jodan has a considerable amount of time available, and is interested in the community, so I could see him co-ordinating analysers and analysees.

It would take a lot of effort by Jodan - and it needs to be something he is willing to do. So I drew his attention to it, and yours too Shazz, and I am letting the two of you get on with it.

The dumb thing was starting this thread on the Post page instead of the Post Editors page.

I'm not sure whether to or at that remark about my free time. All personal issues aside, yes I have tons and tons of free time. I am willing, I don't really see a regular column though. It doesn't fit with some of the standards (Dare I say ambiance) of The Post
