... and is met with open arms.
A return to form sir and a unique new format.
Wonderful stuff too. Imaginary friends can be cruel sometimes.

Hurrah!

Thank you Wowbagger. I'm so glad you're the first to welcome me back as (and this could be about to get sloppy beyond belief) I didn't want to return until I'd come up with something worthy of The Newbie.

Hah! What a ruse.

Only you could elevate the smiley into a cartoon strip. Hm, comfy chair this. I'd forgotten... it's been eighteen years since I had the chance to sit in it you know.

Enjoy it while it lasts, old bean.
*sits in nearby chair and watches spimcoot like a hawk*

As for a smiley cartoon strip, I already have:

*shamelessly plugs his own cartoons in another cartoonist's forum, to hide feelings of inadequacy, then realises he's said out loud anyway so quickly gets over it.*

Feelings of inadequacy, pooh! I refer you to previous sloppiness disguised as cunning ruse.

And so to bed to hug myself with glee (better not mistake it for glue: looked like I was wearing an invisible strait jacket last time that happened).

Cunning sloppiness?
A technique perfected by Hugh Grant I believe. smiley - erm

I think that was floppiness, actually. Incidentally, I didn't mean to sound smug earlier: it's not that I think Eustace *is* worthy of Newbie (well, not quite), rather that I hadn't realised how miserable I was in the wilderness and I'm just pleased to be creative again. It was a long way to go just to get my buttocks on that chair (but oh brother was it worth it).

When Riker said "Smooth as an android's bottom." in that Star Trek movie, he didn't know the half of it, eh?

Post 14

Sounds like he knew far more of it than that. Data entry anyone?

Good to see you back there boy. I particularly like the mitten on the elastic. Oh, and I feel sure I shall have nightmares of flapping gums now, not necessarily attached to anything else. smiley - yikes

Hurrah! Hurrah!

Excellent work old boy. You too Wowbagger, Tales of a Newbie is also excellent.

It's so exciting I can barely breathe, and this is bad, as I have an exam to do and then I must turn my attention to producing another installment of Future Prefect for next week's Post.

Thank you both. It's worth being away just to come back.

MaW - see you at the meet.
Dr. M - do I take it you're not going to the meet? But who will wear the waistcoats? But with whom will I vie sartorially?

smiley - grr On numerous occasions I have informed the Mighty Abi of my intended presence and yet she never adds me to the list. It is causing much social embarrasement and rapidly wearing out the shoe leather of my footman.
That said, I could never vie with you, you exude such an air of rumpled artistic genius against which I could do mothing that would not make me look like some pathetic wannabe. smiley - smiley
Hmmm, must remember a darker waistcoat this time around, it must be able to hide the wine stains.

The Prodigal Returns...

Post 19

Amazing: I thought: there must be some mistake here and lo, for once there was. Pleased you're going, at any rate.

My artistic genius is only rumpled because I've been sleeping on it. And when I said 'vie' I really meant 'compliment'. We're like the Hinge and Bracket of the h2g2 meet scene.

Munchkin

Hinge and Bracket, eh? (As jwf apparently says) You know, for a moment there I thought I had no idea what you were talking about. Sadly a quick google pointed out that I knew exactly what you were on about and even more sadly indicated that one of them is dead. Why is it you only remember the good bits after they are gone? smiley - grr
