Traditionally gin and vermouth but recently made out of whatever you damn well please, the Martini is the long-standing leader of alcoholic drinks that say “I’m better than you”. The preferred way to have one is any way other than how the nearest bartender makes it. That way you can always complain with the proper amount of smugness. We highly recommend practicing your martini glass holding method fastidiously, as a few inches can mean the difference between true coolness and disgraceful lounge-lizardom.
