Prayer for Peace a Poem

POPPIES
Thousands of poppies waving in a gentle breeze,
calling out their message.
"Let there be peace"
Men standing, remembering friends past killed in bloody wars.
Still the poppies proclaim their message.
"Let there be peace"
Wreaths are laid on slabs of stone, Lest we not forget.
Poppies red in colour, those waving poppies calling out to us?
"Let there be peace"
The last farewell is sounded, the people have all gone,
where now are those poppies shouting out their message?
"Let there be peace"
We do not hear the poppy shouting out so clear.
Yet its message is so simple.
"Let there be peace"
