Democracy? A misunderstood ideal, an illusion or the one and true religion?

0 Conversations

For centuries Democracy has been considered a way of governing and living that is just, fair, and above all liberating. For the past two centuries the West -not very sure what the term really means- has adopted the stance that countries are either Democracies -good, civilized, etc- or non-Democracies -plain EVIL.
Now it is 'Democracy' against the world; who is to win I wonder. But the question that keeps f***ing up with my head is whether it is an ideal worth dying and killing for. I keep wondering whether it is such a great system after all, whether I, or anybody esle, understand it correctly, and what the consequences are for havig such a blind faith in a religion that has a Greek headless god for its idol.
