Don't make me go and learn about footnotes...
It's not even the technical ending. It's the last scene with Frankie in, which is the scene before the one I talked about in the article.
I'm confusing myself now.

You can get round the footnoting by adding something like this:
...rescuing Frankie from certain death (this ending replaced an earlier-filmed one in which Frankie was not so lucky - this ending can be seen as part of the extras for the DVD release)
Just put something inside the brackets and a sub (or one of us) can sort this out as a footnote for you later on.
