Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences

... On the 23rd of November, Great Britain kicked the hell out of New Zealand, not England. It was a League match. And a right load of poncy girls both terms were too- I've never seen such kicking of legs like little girlies. smiley - cross Ever time a man got taken down, he lay on his back kicking his little legs. Wassocks.

Actually I think you will find England were playing South Africa ie the Springboks at Twickenham where they beat them 53-3

It happens to the best of us. I had a stand up row with a barman in a pub last night about which part of the visa slip he was meant to give me. Mina and Jim have just informed me he was right and I was wrong.

I've had that discussion before, and I've never been able to come to a certain conclusion. What bit do you lot reckon?

I think it should be the bit you sign as that way they can't alter it afterwards and but they think it is the copy.

What do you think?

My intial thought was it should be the copy, as they should have your actual signature for authorisation. After much debate amoung various friends, some of whom are retailers, we found there didn't seem to be any consenus, and we couldn't find any official type ruling either smiley - erm

Titania (gone for lunch)

As I remember it from the days when we still used slips in the hotel/s where I used to w*rk (now we 'swipe' cards using a slit in the computer keyboard), there were printed instructions on each of the 3 slips for Eurocard/Mastercard

Top slip to client (a flimsy semi-transparent slip)
Slip no. 2 kept by retailer (a yellow ordinary paper slip)
Slip no. 3 sent to card company (a white slightly thicker paper slip)
