"The Snowman" is a children's book 'written' by Raymond Briggs ('written' because it has no words smiley - smiley).
According to amazon.com the animated version of the story is available on DVD, but I don't know whether that is in the US only. I certainly hope not because I love both versions. I only have the book though.

Jane, my entry on Insults is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A193880
The other cartoons I've done for The Post are linked under the cartoon, though I'm sure you knew that already smiley - tongueout.

And Amy... are you STILL pregnant? ROFL smiley - silly I would never have known smiley - biggrin.

If you can - do!!!

It is a wonderful book with beautiful illustrations, and the cartoon is even better. Check out the Radio Times Christmas edition - they usually sneak it into the schedule somewhere. smiley - smiley

With an eye to the commercial they even published the music for easy(ish) piano and various other instruments, complete with full story line and pictures - all my pupils loved this time of year when they could once more play 'The Snowman'. Right at the end of Term I would organise them into ability groups and we'd play duets all day - sigh - that's probably the thing I miss most about not doing it anymore!

I taught them all from about 4 years old right up to adults. I think my favourite age was around the 9-10 year mark - always enthusiastic, especially with things like recorder club at this time of year. smiley - smiley

Yes - I thought I should go 'festive' seeing as I am hoping to collect a Christmas Tree and go mad with decorations at the weekend. smiley - smiley

h2g2 kindly provides the wonderful smileys, so I may as well use them. smiley - biggrin
