Rincewind first appeared in the

Colour of Magic

 (the first *not counting the debateable Strata* discworld book) helping out the Discworld's first tourist for an extortionate fee.



Rincewind is a former "Wizard??" at Unseen University where he was the deputy of the Librarian.


He has had so many near-death experiences that he has learnt to sleep through the boring bits when his life flashes before his eyes.
