What comes to mind when you think of your grandmothers? Were they quiet homemakers or 'Supergrans' who did amazing feats? You probably knew them when they were older: what were they like as young women? What kind of world did they live in? We can learn a lot from grandmothers.

Now, no fair talking about granddads. They'll have their day. This month, we want grandmother stories. And not about how they baked you cookies or told you stories, etc. About them: their experiences, the worlds they grew up in, the choices they made.

If you're old, like the Post Editor, you might have had flapper grandmothers. Mine drove a flivver, but first she rode a horse. If you're a true child of this millennium, your grandma might have been a flower child in her day.
