Picture Quiz: Presidential Election 1924 - Answer
Oh, what a difference 100 years makes. Here's Calvin Coolidge 'running' for president in 1924. Question: What was his strategy?
Answer: He went about his business in the White House and let his running mate, Charles G Dawes, do all the talking. He wasn't called 'Silent Cal' for nothing.
It helped that the Democrats were in total disarray: it took them over 100 ballots to choose a candidate at their convention. Also, a third party stole 10% of the vote.
At least Coolidge had the dog and cat vote sewn up.
