The implication of the gore to come works just as well as describing the actual thing
This reminds me of the story of (probably) my aunt, who told that she had a competion with her sisters and nieces who could collect the most hail Mary's in one session in the confessional. Their confessions got really extreme in a very short time. They had loads of fun in the safe knowledge that the priest was bound to confidentiality. Bonus point were awarded if they got the priest to blush.
