At least it was the quiet kind of harrier.
Elsewhere in Wales, I once encountered the jump jet version of the Harrier, doing dog fight training overhead. (my head, to be precise). I later learned that I was lucky, because they weren't practising dropping tanks from cargoplanes. (it was one of the few places without overhead powerlines)
