Feel free to share your thoughts/predictions here (this was all drawn about 2 years ago so not going to change now).
The most important thing established is that though the lychgate is only little, for plot purposes any vehicle can fit through it fine. Up to and including a battleship (not that there are any battleships in the story). Yes, the caravan is bigger, but it fitted through the gate without problem - and anything else fits through the gateway easily too. Especially when it is blatantly obvious that it can't.
