Join the Q: Power Cut

On the night of 26/27 November 2021, Storm Arwen arrived in the UK. It caused considerable damage and loss of life, so I was fortunate that I only experienced a 17-hour power cut. However, that was the longest power cut I had ever experienced. Luckily on 27 November I was able to go to my mum's house and sit by the gas fire with her, and a neighbour with a gas hob was able to supply hot water for cups of tea so it was fine, but I was still glad when the lights came back on. On 26 November, it was spooky looking out of my window and not seeing the light of the street lamp, but I was fine (albeit a bit cold) indoors with my solar-powered lamp, my mobile phone and a small torch.
