I did just now. Interesting read. Still see some parallels with fifty shades (but that could just be my imagination).

(The special room and saying things like 'you'll be fine' while taking a whip from the rack)

You realise you've just outted yourself as having actually read, or is it seen, that horror? I've only read the Cliff Notes version, I'm not tough enough to read that stuff.

Speaking of horrible things to read and/or watch, everybody stay away from 'Out Where the Crawdads Sing' on Netflix. They left no cliche unturned. It was supposed to be North Carolina, they filmed in Louisiana. Lots of young folk from England and LA staring at each other and saying things in accents they learned off tapes - I swear that one boy was going for Elvis...David Strahairn did a good accent for, say, Nashville, but that wasn't where they were supposed to be.

And in case you're wondering, crawdads don't sing.

The story is a cross between 'Fried Green Tomatoes' and 'Nell'.

Just for the soundtrack (whatever else for?)

I had no intention to hear any crawdad sing.
