Yes, they are beautiful and do look like parasols. In fact,in the UK, there is a mushroom called the Parasol (Lepiota procera)

Hello Paulh and Minorvogonpoet! I'll look up those parasol mushrooms. These are tiny! They'd be parasols for tiny little fairies.
We've had abundant rains this season, and all kinds of mushrooms, toadstools and fungi have sprung up all over the place.
