This is all the fault of QI. They posted a statement on Twitter about Mevil Dewey that was questionable and unrelated to the subject matter of this entry. I got nosy and found this engrossing academic biography of a really weird man. So...I duly got engrossed.
So it's QI's fault you have to read this.
