A glimpse from the past: our time-travel photojournalist snapped this image at the Battle of Germantown in 17771. These Americans were annoyed by the paparazzo. Germantown in 1777 was near Philadelphia. Now, it is in Philadelphia. You know how that goes.

1They usually reenact it once a year, with lots of gunpowder but no balls in the muskets. It's noisy and fun, and proves that you can't really see an 18th-century battle. You can only hear and smell it.
