Things of note: "Bicycle" is NOT the STANDARD of playing cards. They're popular, yes, but there are several other brands sold throughout which sell as well, Hoyle, Aviator, and Bee, and a few Asian and European imports I won't even try to name here.
Secondly: The cherubs on the back of a Standard Poker Bicycle Deck are not on pogo sticks at all. They're on old style bicycles typical of the style produced back when the artwork was made - note the "dropped" handlebars. It's just a traditional logo, that's all. At one time, Bee brand card backs featured stylized beehives. And not all decks feature this cherub artwork - cards made as promotional items or branded for a casino for instance feature a custom back that could be almost anything portrayed.
