Do we have reason to expect otherwise?

I know of trees exploding in extreme cold, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

This was a comment directed at the US White House, whence (a couple of weeks ago) proceeded a strange comment about how 'in Austria, they have exploding trees'. We've given up trying to follow the reasoning from over there. smiley - xmastree

I think yer man 45 was getting confuzzelled as usual and meant Australia, gum trees can very rapidly in a forest fire, although whether it counts as an explosion is open to debate.
