The second question Sasha asked was, "What is your favourite type of holiday?"

I'm going to assume that Sasha meant that in the British English sense, in that "holiday" is what I'd call "vacation" (in the American English sense, holidays with food and gifts--smiley - xmastree, for instance smiley - winkeye ) Despite strong evidence to the contrary, I would love to be able to take a fully spontaneous holiday sometime. Unfortunately, that would take quite a bit more smiley - 2cents than I have ever had available, or that I'm likely to, for that matter... Of realistic ones, I like a balance of leisurely and busy, with plenty of time in a location to explore a bit, with being able to actually enjoy whatever accommodations we have. I do enjoy family holidays, but I do definitely look forward to what has become Tom and my traditional trip for my birthday, where it is just us--no kids, no smiley - dogsmiley - dog... It's generally only overnight, so we only go a couple hours away. The only trip I've gone on completely by myself was my UK trip, and that was great. Don't know if I would've enjoyed it as much if I were *all* the way by myself, though--h2g2ers were sort of my security blanket smiley - winkeye
