h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

So we had our accommodation picked out--an older manufactured home with 4 (!) bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in a little town about 10 minutes from Holden Beach, North Carolina--said home coming with beach gear for guest usage (turned out to be lot of beach chairs, a really nice sun shade (once we figured out that, yes, it really was that simple to set up), and 2 boogie boards). I took the gamble that I would still be on the same rotation at work and reserved it for our original travel dates (after messaging the host to let him know that there was a possibility that I'd have to change the reservation, which he was fine with, and we didn't end up having to do, after all). Once I'd done that, and looked at routes on Google Maps, I realized that we'd be passing near Batty. In fact, when I showed her a screenshot of the route, she said we'd be passing less than 5 miles from her home! So the possibility for meeting for a late lunch was very good.
