That video is rather disturbing - the music complements it very well indeed!
The horses were clearly struggling for a while before the Sisters took over Quite funny, but also disturbing, how the Prince's legs were so tired he could hardly walk, but I'm not sure how the hound managed to get its face stuck under the car's wheel!

Thanks, Sasha - it's funny how Rameau fit something from the 1930s, isn't it?
This is what bothers me about animation, too - the endless exaggeration for effect. It's why I don't watch more of it. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how a cartoonist thought, 'Now, how can we sell '37 Chevys?' and came up with *that*.
The coachman made me laugh, though.
There's a documentary film out about 'industrial musicals'. I can't remember the title. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, US corporations paid big money to have professionals create and act in lavish Broadway-style musicals for their annual employee conventions. There are several people who have made a hobby of collecting the recordings of these things. Here's one.

Yes indeed!
Yes, Rameau sounds quite modern in tone - I wouldn't have guessed the music was 18th Century, especially as it fits so well with the ominous 1930s cartoon
