That is a clear case of discrimination. Mike doesn't listen to his female co-workers, who clearly love you and would have hired you if it weren't for Mike.

Excellent point - I hadn't appreciated that layer of discrimination from my side of the interview table, but the company clearly had issues...
It was disappointing at the time, but in retrospect I was glad not to get a job there...
