Starfish: A Collection

Starfish: A Collection

We become starfish this digital age,

extend our feelers, probe with care,

touch and sample each website page

slide our legs into friendly lairs.

Other browsers see our surface shape

but our secret heart remains outside.

We stay free to stage a quick escape

disappear with a sudden glide.

Starfish on a beach.

I am a sea star. I probe in different directions.

I seek. I often find.

Sometimes I get hurt. It's a shock. I regenerate.

Learning is hazardous. Things grow back.

The fishermen cut me in half.

Then they threw me back into the sea.

That was their mistake.

Now there are two of me.
