Con-trails

Post 1

Caiman raptor elk - Inside big box, thinking.

It's a bit CSI, looking for con-trails.

Years ago, out Met-office announced that contrails are considered clouds, and have to be taken into account in weather models, as they reflect solar radiation. This works both ways (reduce incoming sunlight and keep returned heat radiation in).

I saw yellow/orange contrails at dusk yesterday, resembling slow meteorites. Unfortunately I had to keep my hands on the steering wheel, so I couldn't take a picture.
