Some pictures from my sister's trip to Russia. These are from the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow. There's a replica of Sputnik; some of the many spacecrafts they've launched and the cosmonauts that were in them; and a couple of pioneer doggies that they sent into space. Unlike Laika, these ones returned and had I gather happy lives and were taxidermified (that's a word, right?) afterwards. I don't think they did the same with the cosmonauts, though!
We're grateful to Willem's sister for sharing this glimpse into cosmonaut history. We hope they didn't stuff any human cosmonauts.
