Following on from yesterday's Dunnock, I noticed today that the birds adjacent to it in my bird book have Entries already in the Edited Guide.

European Robins A3474010 link in with Stonechats A13046591 as they are in the same grouping (the 'chats') in the bird book. The Robins Entry is very informative - an excellent mix of fact and folklore smiley - biggrin

On the other side of the Dunnock in the book is the A1111285 Common Wren. This is also an excellent Entry mixing fact and folklore. I was pleased to be able to supply a photo for the Entry after learning the Wren's warbling song this year - in spring I could hear one in Burton Mere A87875987 so I sat quietly in a garden area and was rewarded with a photo when the Wren perched for a while on a handy branch, showing off its characteristic shape and upturned tail.

What's the difference between a Common Wren and a Christopher Wrensmiley - huh

A Common Wren designs a nest while a Christopher Wren designs a cathedral?
