Great Entry - I know that sensation of not only finding the words to describe myself, but also of knowing that in the existence of the words there exist other people who understand the words so I am not alone.
There is a bit of controversy about labels, and criticism along the lines of 'why do you want to put yourself in a box?' but it is more than categorisation, it is searching for a way to articulate one's inner self... I like the concept of the search for the words as mapmaking 
Yes, I can think of films etc eg in relation to portrayals of disability eg The Secret Garden that are unaware of developments in Disability Rights, so I can be glad indeed of how far we have travelled even though there is a way to go yet
