The wipers beat time to the rain.

Headlights in daytime.

Oncoming cars without.

Scofflaw drivers.

Cruising in the back seat,

Leaning into the curves.

Green blur of trees and mountains, grey flash of river,

Pennsylvania, wet and fertile.

Taking in the flying landscape,

Catching glimpses in the rain

Like truths seen through tears.

It's good not to be the driver.
