I can't believe they would throw away nice chairs like that! Being a rather poor person I'm in desperate need of a few more chairs myself ... and I'm sure over there, it would not be hard to come across a few similarly chair-needing folks. If you have so many extra chairs, maybe you could donate a few?

Yes, I'll see if I can find somewhere to send them to - I was shocked that they just got rid of them all.

That is shocking indeed - my office is equipped with recycled desks and chairs and is absolutely fine, so surely there should have been something that could have been done rather than putting the furniture in a skip
I had thought your powers that be had been taking steps to weather the economic turbulence, but now I'm not sure because that much waste in the name of colour scheme surely doesn't help...
Well done on rescuing at least some of the stuff - enjoy your Tueschair and I'm sure you'll find a good home for them soon...

I'm back at work today, sitting in my Wedneschair. The crazy thing is that a couple of weeks ago I had a work away day (that was pointless) in a different building which had really old, out of date, falling apart chairs. But they were correctly-coloured falling apart chairs, so they're kept while the ones in mint condition are chucked.
It's at times like this I wonder how it was that 92% of staff had a vote of no confidence last year and said the VC was incompetent.
