That is a sad song, that two happy people were forced apart for some unknown reason by some unknown person(s)... 
My skills don't extend to composing a tune to fit those lyrics, but it reminded me that I did make a video for the Love Story Theme a few years ago... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL3oo6_Px0k Another tragic song... 'I reach for her hand - it's always there...'

You're right - the late 19th Century is terrible about coming up with songs that make people cry.

My inspiration is a bit inspired by a line from a Pet Shop Boys song about their inspiration: 'Che Guevara and Debussy to a Disco Beat' 
It has been a while since I made a video, so I'm inspired to do another one - it might even be suitable for the Video of the Week feature if I'm lucky...
