I see you've picked an interesting alphabetic challenge for your NaJoPoMo too smiley - biggrin

I'm very glad your avocado survived the frost. It was serendipitous that it grew from a discarded stone smiley - biggrin - I enjoyed reading your smiley - thepost Entry about it earlier in the year smiley - ok Definitely not a usual houseplant, and definitely a talking point smiley - biggrin

I love volunteer plants. However, Elektra is hating on the little walnut trees that spring up all over the yard.

She keeps yelling at that squirrel. 'No! Keep moving! Plant those walnuts somewhere else!'

The neighbours are going to hate *us*. smiley - rofl

We have a generous crop of potatoes and courgettes every year from shoots which appear on the compost heap.

I love this idea, mvp! The alphabet soup.

Now I am imagining your avocado plant in the room with the several dead computers, your mother in law's geological specimens, files, and boxes of old slides.

What are the slides of? And the geological specimens sound interesting. Quite a fascinating room in fact.

How much can plants sense what's around them?

OK so they'll be sensitive to temperature, and light, and damp or dryness, but probably the avocado plant doesn't know its in such an interesting room, otherwise. Hmm.

Bit of a flaky paragraph, but I like the thought of it wanting to know what's in the box of slides. smiley - rofl.

I'm transferring human emotions onto a plant. There must be a word for it.

smiley - laugh I like the idea of the avocado plant chatting to a lump of granite about what it was like to be in the garden. The slides meanwhile, which are mainly of my husband's family, would be interrupting with reminiscences of Switzerland or France. smiley - smiley

The word is anthromorphism but, in an age when computers are becoming more intelligent, perhaps we need a new word?
