4 July is a holiday in the US, and it can't be put off until the weekend without dissing the Founders of this nation. So after lunch, here we were, driving through the almost deserted town in the direction of the countryside.

Between our house and the Hoggett farm, we saw:

  • 42 red-white-and-blue flags
  • 1 Amish buggy
  • 2 senior bikers

And countless brilliant orange lilies, growing in breathtaking profusion in yards and willy-nilly along the country roads. It's lily season everywhere.

When we got to the farm, the lily assortment wouldn't stop. We got a guided tour of the amazing variety. We decided to share some with you.
