I have yet to see a high fidelity dramatization of Pierre Boule's original novel, "Planet Of The Apes" (which begins rather lyrically, like something out of Arthur C. Clarke's "Space Odyssey") at a level of fidelity to the original novel like that characteristic of Annenberg Films, or that produced with Jeremy Brett's "New Sherlock Holmes" to the original stories.
I personally think such a companion to the "Planet of the Apes" movies would set them off nicely.
