I do have a good reason for missing yesterday (and no, it being Thanksgiving isn't it, considering I've managed to post on thanksgiving on previous years...) I managed to steam my fingers yesterday, and I was at a point where I couldn't submerge the tips in cold water. They don't hurt any more, but I've a nice big blister at the base of my right index fingernail. I've got it covered for protection, and because the cover looks better than that gray-over-pink of a burn...

Ooo - not good. Glad the blister has formed so it doesn't hurt any more, but that is a good idea to cover it so the blister can go down slowly without any germs getting in.

Reminds me of the time when I took a little pie out of the oven using oven gloves and put it on the side. I went away and came back just a minute later and picked up the ramekin with my bare hand, forgetting it would still be hot after such a short time. I didn't feel anything at first, so I looked to see if the pastry was golden, and then I felt white-hot needles jabbing my finger and thumb, so I put the ramekin down carefully. The resulting blisters were beauties
