Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge, 2016
Willem made another visit to the forests around the Kurisa Moya nature lodge in South Africa. Here's what he found.
The first photo shows a giant Forest Cabbage Tree…one of the dominant 'big trees' of the forest.
The second shot shows a tree that had fallen over long ago but kept growing…it sprouted several new vertical trunks (visible on left of photo).
The next photo shows a large praying mantis we found in the road!
The next one shows some delightful puffball fungi we found on a fallen, mossy trunk.
The last shows some bright and cheerful Canary Creeper flowers! This is a vigorous climber found on forest margins. |
