Had I thought of it at the time I could have walked across the bridge and snapped the sign from the other side. Instead of 'You are now entering Gilcrest County it would have said 'Dixie County'. I am literally standing in Dixie when I took the photo. There is only a sidewalk on the south side of the bridge. The county was founded in 1921 http://www.dixiechamber.org/history.php I don't know if the songwriters had done that much research.
