I sometimes think the hardest part of the story is the middle.
I understand what you need to do at the start - Show your characters confronting a problem and get them acting. As for the end, you need to show your characters in a new position, where they have either succeeded, or dismally failed to solve the problem they started with.
But middles? Middles are somehow mushy.

I hear you. Also, trying to figure out which rabbits to chase.
I've been struggling with that all day - in a non-fiction setting, of course.
